As club director of an elite level competitive soccer club, South Valley United Soccer Club, and the responsibility for the development of top-tier youth soccer players, as well as being the father of two student-athletes, I am acutely aware of the physical needs and demands placed on today’s youth athletes. In our sport, the need to perform consistently with a blend of explosive speed, brute-strength, balance and agility is often the difference between an athlete who shows potential, and an elite level athlete maximizing their athletic prowess.
In my nearly 15 years of involvement in coaching and developing elite soccer players I have had the opportunity of working with a variety of professional personal trainers, and strength and conditioning coaches with different approaches and methodologies and have experienced varying levels of success. None of the results have matched what my son Tanner has experienced since working with Coach Eddie at Elite Results III. After meeting with Eddie two years ago and discussing Tanners desire to be a collegiate athlete, and my desire as a parent for a trainer to provide a structured plan that would allow for the development of physical and mental strength earned through hard work, Eddie developed a plan to do just that. Eddie’s challenge was to develop a training plan that would complement and work in conjunction with Tanners busy school and sports schedule, and would build the strength, size, agility, durability and explosiveness required to reach our goals.
Fast forward two years, Tanner is in the midst of a record breaking senior year of High School Football, Club Soccer, and enjoying the fruits of his labor. Under Eddies training plan and guidance, we have seen doors open for Tanner that we had never even considered prior to committing to Eddies training plan. As a three sport athlete, Tanner’s recent success in Football, Soccer and Track has attracted numerous collegiate programs expressing their interest in him participating in their respective Soccer, Track, and Football programs . Though he does well in the classroom, it his physical strength, speed, and durability that stands out to would be college coaches.
As a parent, an intangible benefit from training with Eddie which I had not initially considered is Tanners undeniable friendship forged with Eddie over the past two years of 5 a.m. training sessions. Tanner looks up to Eddie as a coach, role model, friend, and mentor, and holds himself accountable to the goals they have set for themselves in the training plan. This sense of accountability and drive to succeed is evidence of the mental strength I had hoped for.
As, I go back and proof read this review I realize it sounds a little like a paid-infomercial. Well, it’s not. Bottom line, my wife and I paid Eddie to train my son and the results have far, far, exceeded any expectation we ever had. Through Eddie’s scientifically based training plan and Tanners hard work, he now has an opportunity to realize his dream of becoming a collegiate athlete if he so chooses.
